Why Do I Need Oilfield HUB When I Have Google?
Monkey Does, What Monkey Sees! But This Ain’t Monkey Business!
I recently had a few prospective clients ask me this question: Why do I need Oilfield HUB when my company can already be found on Google?”
This is a fair question if you think of the HUB simply as an online product and services directory. To answer this question our prospective energy services client’s need to understand how Oilfield HUB works and why exploration and production companies are using the HUB to better manage their upstream vendor relationships and supply chain before they spud a well (what’s going to happen at wellsite) and report on field operations and control their daily project costs (what’s happened through the lifecycle of their wells).
So unlike yellow page directories that are out there, Oilfield HUB differs in that we have actual buyers using the HUB to acquire their services, supplies and rentals and to manage their drilling programs! Certainly, the public side of the Oilfield HUB website looks and functions like a directory but this is just the tip of the iceberg. It’s the private side of the HUB website where our suite of al a carte operations service tools make the sales magic happen for the benefit of our energy services companies.
Both before and after the well has been spud, Operators and EPC’s are using the HUB to initiate sourcing inquiries, bid requests and to order their products/services from both their new and GoTo vendors. They use the HUB to enhance the management and organization of their operations and to save time and money compared to the conventional spreadsheets or ‘ask Mary in purchasing or Conrad in the field, because they’re the folks that order and manage our services and rentals.’

From an Operator or EPC point of view this is how they are evolving to conduct their business in the future. Operators tend to gravitate who they have used in the past, but, and this is a big BUT, when they need to source new vendors, buy more from existing suppliers, easily communicate and organize their GoTo vendors they are now turning to Oilfield HUB to make it happen!
Why?
Stop Monkeying Around!
Operators tell me since the downturn in oil prices they need to source out more than one vendor for each service type for their various project stages. Secondly they also tell me that they do not want to use Google, as they feel they do not know one company from another and what kind of client they might eventually find on Google. So they either turn to a colleague, word of mouth and now the HUB for the inside track to the vendors and services they need in the field.

So what does this mean to our service company HUB clients? More potential sales for your company!
Our service companies are readily accessible within the HUB, and when an Operator or EPC needs to source one of your products or services your company is front and center to potentially make it onto their master vendor list. This makes it easy for them to find you. Easy for them to request prices, quotes, or even better yet, to place an order directly with you, all originated through Oilfield HUB. I don’t know of any directory that can do this or can remotely come close to delivering these type of sales opportunities! Just as importantly, they come to trust and use the online business community associated with the operations tool they are using. Oilfield HUB! This positions your service company as a HUB approved vendor in their mind.
So if you’re not in HUB where are you? Our clients aren’t looking for you on Google anymore!
I would love to walk you through a short demo presentation.
